I’m watching Romney simultaneously deny and defend his record on gay rights and it strikes me that I can’t see the middle ground he thinks he’s standing on. He doesn’t believe in discriminating against gays in employment. He has hired and worked alongside gay people. But he “believes” their personal relationships are ineligible for legal protection because…hmm, he doesn’t say.
